The Avlis Player Reunion Weekend

Post by Tarken » Sat Mar 12, 2016 3:45 pm

Alright I'm just going to throw this out here.

Kudos to everyone behind the scenes who've made this weekend possible. I've really enjoyed interacting with players and characters from long ago. Its been years since I've seen several, and many more who've I've only heard about on the boards and through IG antics over the years. I'm looking forward to seeing who else shows up over the next couple days.

Whoever came up with the idea for this deserves a raise. 8-)

I hope so! We have a Trade Fair at the beginning of next month, and we'd love to see your old toys you there. :P

This place has an amazing group of people. You guys rock. Especially the team.

This weekend has been amazing, and I am so impressed by all the work put into it, as well as the turnout. All of the staff/DMs and players deserve a huge rave.

Beyond that, I want to bump this again, after seeing a few posts in the RSVP News Topic from people who missed much or all of this weekend.
Katroine wrote:Also, the reunion can (and hopefully will) continue beyond the weekend!
Think of it as a reminder that we are still here, and you can drop by anytime. I'm sure we'll find something for you to do, and people to do it with! You know better than most how long Avlis has been around, and we aren't going anywhere. Events (both player and DM ones) happen all the time still, as well as random crumps or whatever from a quick post, dropping by one of the places people gather (Zvid is pretty popular with many now), or jumping in IRC and asking if anyone is up for a romp somewhere. Or just drop by and spend some time role-playing, and show the rest of us how it is supposed to be done. :P

You all know the words... You can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave! :cooler:

It was fun running into so many people from years past and present, catching up with old characters as well as meeting new ones. Thanks everyone, for a great time. :prost:

This was excellent. It had everything: drunk parties, crumping, mages, crop rats, the snackening and even dancing. It was so good to meet old friends and also meet new people.
Thanks to everyone who made it possible!

I had a great deal of fun even though I wasn't able to stay through most of the events and missed most of the fun, it was good to get into the game and enjoy the RP and the stories again.

My little Dwarf definitely has a confidence issue after getting easily overwhelmed time and time again this weekend. Looking forward to seeing some of you around in old faces or new faces (hint, hint).

Had a great time seeing people that I haven't seen in a very long time, I dredged out Vichan for a tiny reunion that was fun in that in his foggy old memory I got a couple of other players to go over old times and memories...just awesome.

All the events were just terrific, even to the point of re-living the hectic overloaded servers of yesteryear.

I too would love to stress to those who came back to this event that we are here all the time, feel free to drop by from time to time.

QFT. Krackq went above and beyond the call of duty.

(But the next time Avlis Marketing suggests something like this I think he's just gonna take a swing at us.)

LOVED seeing all the old faces again! Y'all come back, y'hear?

It was a fantastic opportunity this past weekend to meet players of old. From someone who only joined 7 months ago, this weekend made me wish I had been around since the very beginning.

Thank you everyone who made this possible.

mmmhmmm *gets the idea it isn't Suki's 'face' he wants to see.*

heh anyway I had a blast and am now officially re-addicted to this crack house of a game! I dont know if i should say thank you or my condolences.

Now i just need to 'KILL OFF" some of my old charaters instead of making a new one, or ressurectiong people better off dead.
currently resurrected Avlis characters:
Sakura Darkstar -Nymph - Equalizer
B.O.B. & all her personalities - changling - insane confounder
Xavier & Nimat -brownie & pixie - Red mage initiate & fairy 'sister' familiar
Berry (lvl 21 barBEARian i had forgotten i even made) - elf or Bear - Pack Bear
Hala Chars:
Coran - changling - chef (born in avlis but moved and adopted/ naturalized to hala)
Frin - ghostwise Halfling - Psionic Barbarian
Arkaz Chars:
none back yet though I have been asked about Asil & Lisa- nymphs? - split personality psion bards (arkaz team approved psion clone acts as her twin sister without knowledge of her 'normal self')

I have at least 3-4 others I am leaving dead or can bring back to die is an event
Tanaris - asshole,
Cassandra - bard,
Sylvia - gods dont even remember but was evil and had 2 panthers sugar&spice,
(forgot name) avariel male, only played when my RL wife tried to play, she decided wasn't for her, and he wasn't seen much after if at all

as you can see when i would be on alone for hours on end i tended to go stir crazy and make a new character, but im better now...
if im seen as a new character please send a DM to kill me
I only feel myself, when i'm sombody else.

The reunion brought me here, again, and looks like I'm gonna stay a while too.

Rolled 2 new characters, seen tons of new and old people around. Starting to realize how many places in here I never visited, the servers seem like crazy, endless adventure sources. People all around are super friendly, just like I remembered. I somehow get into a lot of trouble, even dying in start tents, and the team seems to fix the stuff with super speed and (hopefully) endless patience.

It's so good to be back at my favorite online roleplaying place ever.

Tangleroot nailed this on the head. The team is fantastic. The world and systems are so good. The size of the world is at least Skyrim in size with tons of interesting things to see and do.

Good to have you back man. I remember one of our first interactions when Drake tried to recruit 'Root for the Alpha Corps...
