Setting Windowed Mode
Does anyone know how to change the size of the window NWN runs in while in windowed mode? I recently changed monitors and now my windowed mode is teeeeeeny tiny.
Thanks

Not really. I dislike doing it since I can't use the mouse to change the camera angle by nudging the edge of the screen, but I do flip back and forth to check crafting recipes, or to reference information, or to send pm's and type up posts while watching the conversations go on round me.bensinn wrote:are there any benifits too running it in window mode? at least performance wise?
I tried setting the resolution while in windowed mode and my monitor FREAKED out.

That may be a problem with the monitor. Try setting it in the Config mode to the size JUST before your desktop resolution, and then launching.

Sure, at least in Windows. Just use Alt Gr+Enter to switch.bensinn wrote:so you can move back and forth between window mode and full screen while in game?Marleh wrote:Not really. Tried this, it didn't change the window size, no matter what I set it to.PsiOmega wrote:You can always try setting the resolution before starting the game then.
In nwn.ini, I think, there's a width and height field. Just set those to a proper res and then start the game.

I've found windowed mode to work quite well, especially after I started using the middle mouse button to adjust camera angle... I am pretty sure I'd still be using the middle mouse button even if I was full-screen. Good for casters, archers and people who use any targeted action, for whom moving the mouse away from targets is not so hot,
Click and hold the middle mouse button (scroll wheel usually), and then move the mouse (up-down to raise/lower the tilt, left-right to rotate around)... the camera should start changing its aim. Then the scroll wheel of course for zooming in and out.

Laptop or station PC? If laptop, it can be something with graphic card. When I use "window mode" sometimes it goes wild and I have so funny colours and other strange things. To restore it I must make reset.Marleh wrote:Tried this, it didn't change the window size, no matter what I set it to.PsiOmega wrote:You can always try setting the resolution before starting the game then.

Nope, its my PC, not a laptop. My old moniter would spazz colors for a second or two, then flip to windows mode with no other problems. THis monitor flips back and forth wonderfully nice, but the window is just too small.Kanteletar wrote:Laptop or station PC? If laptop, it can be something with graphic card. What resolution does work in windowed mode?
Other details might be useful.
I can set the monitor to any resolution, but then the game must be set to that same resolution as well, or I get a black screen and a message pop stating "OUT OF RANGE"
I'm being chided by my monitor, heh!

Hah!!!
Figured it out.
This monitor has an auto-adjust that disliked me trying to set the game to another resolution. I turned that off, and now can set the game resolution. It is still a bit kludgy, whenever I change to windowed or back again I get a message about the input type, but overall it works .
Yay!

okay dumb question what does the Gr mean ... hold down the Alt and the enter key with Gr? it would be most useful for me to speed up my copy and paste for bard songs... right now I hit Alt-Tab and switch between a word doc and NwN, but since the game is running in one resolution and my windows word doc in another .. the screen flickers when the resolution changes adding about 8 second to EACH copy and past.... in a 51 line song like the one I just did thats 6.8 mins meaning my 15 mins song could be only 8.2 mins.
thanks!

If Alt Gr+Enter doesn't work for switching, is there any simple way to fix it?

What did you end up with? Did it close the window completely, or not do anything?
