Skill Bonus Max of +50 Question

Post by tid242 » Wed Aug 09, 2006 7:12 am

So the maximum bonus from Spells & Gear to a skill is +50, am I correct that bonuses from stats, feats (alertness, stealthy, skill focus, epic skill focus, etc), and racial abilities (elves, gnomes, et al) all stack in excess of 50?

I couldn't find a clear answer for this anywhere, but have seen checks high enough to suggest that this is the case.

Thx.

Yes, all the bonuses from feats do not count towards +50 limit.

So Stat bonus's, spells, psionics, items all count towards the +50 limit.
So if you want those uber skill heights you have to invest in Feats (skill focus, epic skill focus, stealthy, alertness, silver tongue etc etc..)

ONLY spell & item boni count towards the +50 limit. ALL other boni (stat-bonus, feat-boni, racial bonus) stack with it over and above the limit.

Note also that the +12 bonus limit of items and spells to a stat is separate (and thus cumulative) from the +50 bonus to a skill, so in effect your items plus spells can give you +56 to a skill...+6 through higher stat-bonus on the stat related to the skill and +50 directly as skillbonus.
