logging conversations

Post by tid242 » Sun Jun 25, 2006 4:20 pm

What does everyone use to log their IG conversations?

I have my logging on, however it's a pain in the ass to have to rename the file every time I'm done playing.

What does everyone else use, and does it suck, or is it cool?

I use a combinbation of Avlis Sidekick and the Gnomish Log Rotator. It works really well. I have the sidekick set to run the rotator after nwn exits, which it will do even if nwn crashes (at least it has every time so far). There are a few settings that you have to tweak but it isn't that hard to figure it out.

Avlis Sidekick: http://avlis.betaspace.net/ASKInstall.zip
GLR: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=ot ... ail&id=155

In ASK under options I have log conversations set, but the other two boxes unchecked as GLR takes care of those items. In the 'run this command after nwn exits' I list the file path for the GLR. There are some settings to tweak in the GLR as well - some handy things like allowing you to append to the filename with details of what is in the log. I'm sure you can use GLR alone as well.

put this value:

ClientEntireChatWindowLogging=1

under: [Game options]

in your nwnplayer file

the logs will show in your 'log' file
