CEP weapons and crafting

Post by Midknight » Fri Jun 02, 2006 1:40 am

I've searched a few times for any mention of this, but nothing's turned up. I was wondering if there are any plans to implement any of the CEP weapons into the crafting system?

EDIT: On another note, I remember talk a while back about possibly expanding the artificing system into enchanting weapons and armour? Is that still in the works?

Best answer I can come up with is, "no." No one, (disclaimer: to the best of my knowledge) is working on a project to impliment the various CEP weapon models into crafting. That's a big project as there are many weapon types, many weapons would need to be created and added to the palette, recipes created and then incorporated into the craft. And it has to be done by someone familiar with the crafting system, so they don't break it. So, "no," and, "probably not."

If that changes, I'm sure an announcement will be made.

I had planned to add weapon and armor artificing in. I am no longer working on this. My understanding was that PJ had plans for this. He will most likely answer in good time. :-D

*sighs*

Guys, chill, please. Designing the look of an item is the easy (but tedious) part. Designing the rest of an item, its properties and ingredients and making sure that all "fits" takes a long time and a lot of Team-side discussion. Further, none of this can happen until other (unrelated) projects are delivered.

So, "when we're ready" and "we're not ready yet" and "we haven't even decided to do it"

A better question is, "Are any Team members looking for subs?"

No idea, but given that I got bored and put together about 15 levels of weapon crafting recipes, I figured my interests were best suited to this endeavour.

What can I say, I had a really slow day at work recently!

  Uhm... wow. I hate to discard good work, but seriously, that's really pre-mature.

The Team hasn't even decided if there will even be an update. Please understand that it's not for lack of people to come up with products or recipes. There are other issues that must be worked out first before we even consider what items will be made available via the crafts. And we cannot consider those issues until certain subsystems and research are completed that will have an influence on any discussion the Team will have on mundane crafting.

No worries, PJ, I got bored, so I whipped something up to amuse myself. None of what I designed would really fit in with the new "pseudo-magic" nature of high-end crafting.

I only threw that out there to show I've attempted such a project, and given how long I've been crafting on Avlis, I figured I might be able to contribute in a useful fashion. (LOL, me, being useful, that would be a first! )

Anyway, if you need help when the time comes, I'd be happy to assist. :D
