Post by 3xistance » Sun Apr 30, 2006 4:56 pm

Yep those crazy developerrs at bioware screw up yet another patch which will effect every host with cep that updates to it because of scripting errors between it and cep, here's the fix http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic ... pile+error

Fixed your title. If you feel like trolling Bioware issues, do it on their site please. (You'll likely get locked there regardless)

CEP 1.5x is incompatible with patches other than 1.66. Why? This is simply due to the design of the game. If you want a compatible CEP, then you'll need to wait for CEP2.0

In an effort to see what this is all about I contacted someone I know that is deeply involved in module building. He had this to say,
Here's a statement by the lead from CEP team and it's relationship to 1.67...

CEP2 will not remove anything CEP 1.52 had, nor will anything that uses CEP 1.52 be broken with CEP2 or 1.67 The only problem with using NWN 1.67 and CEP 1.52 is that you dont get the new content that NWN 1.67 has, however since only builders could access that content anyway, builders will be able to upgrade to CEP2. There will be no CEP 1.53 or other non-CEP2 version that will be 1.67 compatible. So if you have an unsupported or finished module, CEP2 and 1.67 wont have any effect because theyre wont be anyone to make changes to take advantage of the new content anyway.

What CEP2 will do is be a new set of haks, this means all users will have to download the full content rather than just a patch. This is the only way to clean out unused content and neaten things up. CEP2 and CEP 1.52 can both be installed at the same time, plus since there is a huge amount of CEP2 content added anyway its relativly not that much difference.

What builders should do is swap the CEP 1.52 haks associated with a module for the CEP2 haks (and import the erfs if desired) without any problems.

The latest news... The CEP Team have released a new 1.53 patch to help make the Community Expansion Pack (CEP) compatible with BioWare's recently released 1.67 Patch:
This is the CEP patch v1.53 for Windows users, Mac and Linux (RAR format, 1 MB). This patch will update your CEP to v1.53, which works with NWN v1.67.

CEP v1.53 only works for those that have NWN v1.67, Shadows of Undrentide, and Hordes of the Underdark. Please make sure you have all three before using this patch.

A readme (pdf) is included in the download, which has instructions for installing.

Once you download the CEP you can use it to run all CEP-compatible modules and PWs. The CEP does not affect your NWN game installation. It's simple, takes minutes to install, and greatly enhances the look and feel of your game.

Pleast note, this is NOT the CEP itself. It is only a PATCH for those that already have CEP. If you don't have CEP do not use this.
