can you play with out the nwn play disk in your cd rom? How?

Im wondering do any of you avlis junkies out their got there Nwn set up so that you dont need the cd to play it?

I believe im heaving some issues with my cd rom working right. Every program ive tried (windoes instalation, nwn platinum edition) to install has locked up, and while playing avlis after about half a minute or less time it freezes my computer up, every time. I was hoping someone out their new of the way to play the game with out having to have the play disk.

Since 1.65 or 1.66 the CD is not required anymore.

You just have to start the game without anything in your CDrom and try it.... it should work

Thanks thats a cool trick. Hides disk away. Well i started thinking about the last time i had problems with installing things and went back and changed some bios settings that i just cant stop goofing arround with. Things seem to be stable playing AVlis. Soon ill be checking if i can install things again. Crosses fingers.

but, be aware that this is not working anymore with the Diamond version of NWN.

You do not need the DVD for the Diamond version of NWN once you run the update utility located in the root of your NWN directory.

I have the platinum edition and you dont need the disk for this one.

It still works
