problems logging in

Post by Arnimane » Fri Oct 07, 2005 10:54 pm

So I walked out of ROTE and the computer froze. REbooted and tried to relog, everytime I log in I see the load screen, then crashes.

My question is this: Is there something about how ROTE is drawn that would trigger an opengl conflict with the an ati graphics card? I seldom pass by that bldg so no prior happenings. Do I just wait an hour and see what happens via serverhop?

Thanks.

*edit* also noticed I cant connect to mirc either. Something about an unresolved server?

that happened to me the other day at the LRC.

I tried and tried, but as soon as it tried to load that screen, poof! back to windows.

I eventually swapped disks (laptop with multiple disks, and thus diferent installs of windows and NWN - though same key) and that worked fine.

Haven't tried to go back there on the first drive yet. But I am playing the rest of the world on it.

I'd try the server hop thing.

I've never had this at ROTE but did elsewhere and both times a group went through a door in mass near the same time.

Server Hop. Le'Or seems the best server for this. Some claim they log out after the hop then log back in on the origional server an all is well. I've only been able to goto le'or and run back to the server.

I just had this happen to me on Mikona, just north of the Rock. The only thing that has worked for me (and this has happened twice) is to server hop to another server, and take the boat back to Mikona (since it is a different map)

I'm not sure what would happen if you server hopped to the exact same map that you crashed on though.

Good luck..

P.S. try and see if you can server hop now and get into the game without crashing. If you can, just finish waiting the hour, and server hop. I have no idea what would be causing this. I am guessing it is some sort of a conflict with a couple scripts that load up at the very end of the loading process.

BTW, did you crash right as the load bar was almost completely full?
Because that's where I was crashing too.

Refresh my memory.

The ROTE is at the main hub in Ferrell, right?

oh, yeah....

thanks. I would say when your hour is up, server hop. That is certain to work.

Again, good luck...
