Tumble

Post by Zerub » Sat Aug 06, 2005 2:15 pm

Just curious, if I have 5 ranks of Tumble, and then put on some Full Plate Mail. Do I still get a +1 to my AC, since the armor would actually take it back below 5? I am assuming that I still would, since the definition makes it sound like it ignores a modifier.

Yes, you will get the AC, but everything will get an attack of opportunity against you (which is the other use of the power). NWN added the +1 AC convention, and only made it a class skill for a few classes (all light or no armor classes), but if someone wants to they can either take a few levels in one of the classes or buy the skill at double price. There was a long thread a ways back about tumbling in full plate. Don't know where it went though, and search engine is not my friend. :P

Tumble does not work this way in PnP I am assuming? It is an obvious nerfing target, but there are more important things to worry about first.

Tumble lets you do alot of other things in PnP, which can't be done in NWN. I guess their way of making up for that was the AC. Spring Attack and Tumble completely nullify one another's AoO avoiding ability in NWN as well.

But no, you don't lose your AC from wearing full plate.

This is heading to familiar territory.
