Psion-classname doesn't show up, do i need a file?

Post by Khaelindra » Tue Jul 19, 2005 9:43 pm

I noticed that i never see Psion as a class when i look at the "who's on" screen before login. Never bothered me much before as i just assumed it was Psion and it wasn't too important to me to know the details of everyone. However, as i hope to take Psionlevels myself soon, i was wondering if perhaps i'm missing some classes.2DA file or something like that.

Am i missing a file (CoPaP/Avlis-specific) that i need for the Psion-class to show up in the playerlist? Will i be able to select Psion as class with a character if i don't have it? If i do need it, where can i find it?

Thanks for the feedback.

That screen is showed before the haks are loaded. You have everything you need.

For cosmetic purposes, you could extract classes.2da from avlismain1_2 into your override folder, but that might cause issues.

None of the specialised classes like the holy warriors or psions show on the who's on screen, usually you will read something like 'bad sstref' or something like that.

I once saw someone with a wierd title in their level, something like "I know you are but what am I?" Through me for a loop.

That is caused by the tlk file not being loaded either on that screen, and sometimes the old bioware tlk contains a line with the same number or something, and NWN just puts that in than.

I'm not a tlk wiz, just a toolset one, so I'm not sure of this.

Again, all is fine :)

Yeah, I figured as much, and every so often I check to see if it shows again, just to get a screenshot.

I remember seeing someone with 8 levels in the class (Iron Deposit) oh boy was I shocked, and frankly rather jealous.

You can start taking Psion levels from 2nd level. No prerequisites :)

No prerequisites is wrong... you need 5 ranks in concentration and the iron will feat.

Actually, if that is true it is new. My character has never had, nor ever will have, the feat Iron Will (unless it comes with the Monk class), and had no ranks in concentration when I decided to start the psion class. The Iron Will I think I gained through being a monk, and I got an additional +2 to mind-effecting spells with the psion. But I am sure on the concentration part. Then again mine was one of the first psions, so that could have changed.

I made a psion last week, took no concentration, took no Iron Will, and am now a lvl 1 psionist...empirically proving that you do NOT have any prerequisites in the Avlis-version (as opposed to the documented Dr. Harvey-version) of the Psionisist.
