I need to use a GFF editor to edit some items. Thing is, while I know how to extract items as erfs or as the uti format, I don't know how to put them into gff. Anybody willing to help out a gnome with some info?

UTI is a GFF file. All blueprint files (UTI, UTC, UTP, etc) are GFF's along with BICS and some others. GFF just means "General file Format". Also, if you need that operation done on a module level, then I would suggest moneo as you can just use it to run a batch operation on a mod file. It does require a little digging to find out letoscript syntax, but it's very quick compared to trying to hand edit a bunch of blueprints. Just tried this recently on a mod and I can't believe I didn't look into it ages ago as it saved me a ton of toolset clicking and time.
EDIT: IIRC Bio's released GFF editor (the one on their site) only looks for .gff extension files in the open dilaogue. I believe it was roboius who released a modified version that will open GFF files with differing extensions (i.e., bic, uti, etc). That version should be on the Vault.

Another option is here:

You can convert any resource to either its base GFF or go a step further and convert it to XML. Once it's in XML you can edit it as text or use your favorite scripting language to make automated changes. This one is highly recommended!

NWNViewer is an old app like NWNexplorer that can handle the creation of mod, erf, etc. Should be on the vault by a guy named Zoligato. Use the NWN packer option then you can add files to an archive and save it out as erf, mod, etc.
Another option would be to open the mod in the toolset, copy/paste your modified uti's to your <NWN's install dir>\NWN\module\temp0 directory overwriting the old ones. Hit refresh palette (rclick in palette window to get menu) in the toolset and save. No need for an erf this way.
If your temp0 directory is empty, then navigate to temp1, temp2, etc. until you find one filled with files.
