Custom portrait link dead?

Post by Revan » Tue Apr 26, 2005 4:30 am

Im probobly posting this in the wrong place so if I am ill delete it or if'n you be'n an almighty DM you can move it if you feel so inclined.

It seems that the "Crestu's Avlis Custom Portraits (8 MB)" link is dead on the portraits download page. Is this known? Id certainly love to download it to complete my portrait collection.

There's a 7.5 Mb file called "avlisportraits.rar" at

Might be the one you are looking for.

nice fractal art. did you make that yourself or find it somewhere on the web?

if you made it, i'd be curious to know which program you used. i use ChaosPro and POV Ray for my fractal art.

it looks cool, got any more? :)

*looks guilty*
I got almost all of them from public galleries.... I've been planning on making my own for quite a while, but I haven't had the courage to give it a try. I'll have a look at the programs you mention though 8)

ChaosPro is good, but you need to know a bit of the math behind what you want to do. there are lots of walkthroughs, explanations and help files, as well as templates you can download as plugins for it.

POVRay for Windows, is a ray tracing program. you can do a lot more than just fractals with that, but need to know a bit of C. they have very good help files and tutorials for that program too. it's not too diffficult once you get the hang of it :)

good luck with those, fractals are very awesome :)

there are lots of other fractal programs out there, just do a search if you dont like the ones i mentioned. Have fun ;)
