*looks at the post snickering a bit*

Vorpal.. Even in my PnP game, for over 15 years of continous playing with the same group. None of my charatcers have ever seen a vorpal.

Good try... ;) :)

Well, originally, it comes from a poem

http://www.jabberwocky.com/carroll/jabb ... wocky.html

But in the old AD&D, it got translated to a sword that on a crit hit would decapitate your enemy in one shot.

Since v3 started, they have toned it down a bit, mostly because the weapon was so disgustingly violent that it was never seen in any game. It just would ruin campaigns.

I am not sure if it still exists in 3.5 as a weaker weapon, or if they just dropped it completely.

In the old Legends and Lore books, King Arthur is represented as having a +5 vorpal (excalibur) and a magical scabbard that heals him.
funny I remember that little note from the books after like .... 15 years.

ah... isn't vorpal save vs death, and you'd probably only be able to get a DC 14 on that if its +2 or less.

Hell a +2 enhancement is worth about 7k on a bastard sword, Vorpal DC-14 is 50k

Yeah Talwin had a great suggestion and with the background of the Prime it fit, that is why I voted for it. But for the record out of the staff that voted, it was an unanamous decision. (I know, I cant spell. :P )

Heck, I think when Arborea finailizes our Paperwork as an incorporated, not for profit business, we may use the name for that as well. :)

Aetos Ektasi, LLC INC Running the Arborea Server. I like that.
