Under the Avlis banner at the top of the page, there is a link named 'groups'. Press that, and you can apply to join many of the private groups, such as the class groups, evil characters, etc.

They are mainly off limits to protect people against themselves and for personal convenience. Some of our more dedicated forum readers just click anything with a "unread" marker in front of it, even if they shouldn't really be reading it.

It'll also help keep the amount of new posts every day a bit more manageable. If you're not interested in rogue discussions, then you don't sign up for them, and the new posts in there won't show up in your "view posts since last visit" list. Effectively it's a spam-filter only for posts. :)

Some of the boards are also for guild members only and shouldn't ever be read by people not in those guilds, or worse: in enemy guilds. The two armies are a good example for this. Often you can't just sign up for these groups either. You'll have to find them and sign up in game, after which you'll be added to their discussion group as well.
So much fun,
yet so little time to enjoy it.
