2nd gamespy account kicks me off avlis when playing alt

hi, i felt like trying an alt so i made a 2nd gamespy account so i could hide and then made them.

but i get booted from the game 20 seconds into play.

is what i'm doing frowned upon and not do-able?

cant find anything in the forums that says no and even seems as though others have multiple gamespy accounts with no issue.

I have my neighbour from across the street playing on my computer using her own gamespy account, and we have no trouble. Can't be an alt-problem, or everyone playing the game with several family members or such would have the same problem.

i get kicked about 20 seconds in with the message "character invalid - file not found"

char isnt a custom race
char doesnt have scribe scroll

char is completely normal

any other takers?

Already tried a different character with a pure nonsense name that guaranteed isn't already in use?

No. I didnt know i needed to. I assumed (sounds wrong now) that the passwords and server addresses were all I needed.

Just to check, do you know that I need to apply for an alt account (which sounds like a hassle and i'll drop the idea right now) or is it just a suggstion to try?

Yes, you need to apply for the alt account, as the User Name of that account is what's not being found, it sounds like. That and it's just courtesy.
