Bored at work, so I'm going to pass the time by asking questions.
How does Sneak Attack Damage work vs. Damage Resistance?
Is the sneak attack damage the type (slash, bludgeon, pierce) of the weapon used?
Example:
Say I hit someone, who was wearing a Greater Archers Belt (20 Piercing Resist.), with a 10d6 sneak attack using a non-magical dagger (piercing).
Damage from the dagger is 4. Damage from the sneak attack is 30.
What happens?
1) Opponent takes 14 points of damage? (34 total minus 20)
or
2) Oppenent takes 30 points of damage? (4 from dagger resisted, sneak attack not resisted)
It should be easy enough to test out once I get home, but I figured someone probably already knows.
Thanks!
