stoertebekers custom icon corner

Post by stoertebeker » Tue Jun 01, 2004 2:14 pm

Im drawing icons again.
Unfortunately its been a little too late to get them into the new hak so we'll have to wait until the next patch comes out which isnt that bad because: more time more icons.

I will post pictures here bit by bit.
Feel free to post your personal wishlist of icons you'd love to see.
Feedback apprectiated.

Todays bunch:

I know i could tell you this in person stoerte...

- Metal sheets for the different kinds of metal

- Icons for the copper and tin and mithril ingots (2x2 icons)

- More stuff with avlis specific symbols on it (amulets, books and stuff). Btw, does someone know where to get a complete list of those smybols?

- Bottles for the different brews

- a 2x2 sized map of avlis, maybe maps of regions as an icon

- fishing rod and bait

- smoking pipes

(i know this is a rather long list, but i just throw in my ideas)

Very nice, more useful creature components would be my next pick. We're adding more of those and I find the choices pathetic for what ships with NWN.

Keep it up!

Cheers,

Thanks for the feedback - that should keep me busy for a while.

Most of the deity-symbols are on caffeepress (well, not most but all the greater gods) so I can use them for more books, amulets, lucky charms and the like. I know the symbol of the Ravens and the Shemathen - all other guilds/orders/societies are welcome to post or send their symbols (rough sketch sufficent).

Ignots and sheets are last on my list because they are soooooo boring to paint 8)

Bottles - sure. Fishing Bait - of course. Smoking Pipe - yep.

For creature components I need more information (the crafting .erf would be fine).
Same for the map. I thought about painting a big map to replace the actual mouse-pad. Problem is - I need a sketch with geographical information (forests, lakes, deserts, mountains etc) and at least the position of the capital cities. As soon as the big map is finished its only a small step to the map-icons.

Great input - keep it coming!!

He means crafting components that come from animals.

Remember that we can go up to 255 icons for each category:
Avlis Misc Small
Avlis Misc Thin
Avlis Misc Medium
Avlis Misc Large

These new categories I've put in, allow us to make as many icons as we want, without worrying about BioWare, or CEP icons, interfering.

depends on the symbol ... Im painting the icons ten times the original size and then scale them down. If the symbol is rangy and complicated the larger it has to be, otherwise you wont be able to recognize it. This isnt a problem with shields and books but cloaks are tricky.

Just send/post the symbol and the item you want to see it on - I try if it is doable.

Does an eel qualify as a fish? Or...

If it qualifies as a fish, I'll get you your eel in the proper fish base item.
If not, its all yours stoertebeker. :D

<--- that on a holy symbol
and maybe a book too, but on the book, make it look like the blood part is real blood that dried on the book instead of a picture.

That is my opinion, not nessasarily anyone else's opinon, might just be, but that would be a coincodence, and damnit, sometimes the crap I write is not even my opinion either.

Now we only need an Angadar symbol.... A tome and a beaker veiled in blue mist was what I had described so far (and heard no protest yet about).
