Hi everybody,

I'm new to Avils so I thought I'd stop in and introduce myself. I have always been interested in role-playing games and I dabbled a bit in PnP back in college many years ago. When the Baldur's Gate series came out I played both games with great interest, especially the sequel which I thought had a great story line and fun gameplay. Started playing NWN last summer and quickly finished the OC, SoU, and some other single player modules, then started to look into PWs. Took me a long time to find one that I liked and I ended up playing on Glorwing (pw.glorwing.com) for over two months. Had a great time there. When HotU came out I started playing NWN again and after I was done, decided to see if I could find a new PW to explore. A long search ensued which eventually led me here to Avlis.

About me: I'm 37 years old, male, and I live in Fort Worth, TX. In addition to playing computer games (RPG and RTS mostly) I'm also interested in motorcycles, (riding my H-D Road King every opportunity I get) and African Cichlids.

About my character: Aribel has been my main character for close to a year now. (That's her in my avatar ;) ) She's been with me through the OC, SoU, HotU, Glorwing and elsewhere and during this time she's developed into a mature character with a rich background and an interesting personality. Each time I restart her I build something new into her story and I'm hoping that her adventures in the World of Avlis will add a lot more. For meta info reasons I won't reveal more here, but if you see her IG please stop by, she loves to make new acquaintances.

Janr, I've read some of your other posts and met you IC last night (I play Eloryn). Send me a tell, if you want to, when I get in game tonight (if you are on) and we'll find some stuff to do. :D

Thanks for the welcome, folks! Aribel is starting to settle in and making friends in Elysia and I'm having a good time trotting along after her :) I must say I'm impressed with the quality and consistency of role-play that I have seen so far. Avlis is definitely on par with the very best PWs out there. Broken quests or no, it's the people behind the characters that make a game and I am hooked...not sure if that's a good or a bad thing, though ;)

See you all IG.

Yeah, my tap water is quite hard so it's perfect for Africans. Oscars and other New Worlds like softer water as you know and don't like to mess with water chemistry :) I do like Oscars, though, but I don't have room for more big tanks ;) If you're setting up a new tank, take a look at the Cichlid forum lots of great info on fish keeping there.

Yeah right ;) LOL

Okay since I have your attention, Orleron, let me take the opportunity to thank you for creating such a wonderful world to play in. I have only been here for a short time, but already I can tell how much thought and insight went into the design and implementation of Avlis.

I have checked out *many* PWs in my time playing NWN online, but this is only the second one that I have decided to keep. That says a lot because I'm a very discerning player ;)

Cheers
