1.32 Version

Post by terryrayc » Thu Sep 25, 2003 12:35 am

Noticed today when I logged in gamespy wanted to update my client to this new version. Just a reminder do not apply the update until told to do so or you will not be able to play on any of the avlis servers

This is strange by the way seeing how the NWN website still says it's in beta and not out yet.

Yeah, they were slow updating their website. I read on their forums somewhere that it was due to the fact that they only had one person to update their website. Weird...

I am getting a bug with 1.32 and not seeing any information about this happening or how to fix it.

I press 'play' and the splash screen come up, then nothing. That is it. I tryed to reinstall and then patch again and still the same issue.

That happened to me occasionally before the patch. I just kept reopening NWN until it finally loaded. Usually didnt take more than three tries.

ok, seems my cd and some cd security atari implemented are have a disagreement. I heard mention of a no-cd program to defeat this bug. If anyone has knowledge of this that would be great.

Use daemon tools... no-cd patches suck.

what is "daemon tools" as my DVD drive does not like the copy protection on my SOU disk and I dislike using my slower CDRW drive (but have no other option)....

they emulate a CD-Drive, by mounting an iso-image of the original game CD

I have found that extended use of "daemon tools" can corrupt your HD so be carefull!

I've used Daemon Tools for my game backups for years now. I'm too
damn lazy to change the CDs all the time. Especially when I have 1 drive,
and the NWN disc never leaves it. :)

And yes, I own the CDs that the images on my drive came from. They're
packed away in a box buried under magazines with a monitor on top of
them. heh

Anyway. Daemon Tools is perfectly safe as long as you get it directly from
the official site.

*grumbles* The SoU cd burned my CD-rom drive... The drive cant see a damn thing anymore..cant read any cd... :? So I also recommend the usage of No-cd tools.

hum, I still have no problems using GameDrive by FarStone. Supports most CD Copy Protection and support drives D-Z, builds VCD's and supports all current CD copy-protection crap such as securom 4.x

Has build system in it, just click and if your not sure you just tell it to test the cd to see what type of protection it is using and it does the rest. You can have as many VCD's as you want, you just mount and unmount them as needed.

FWIW, I had the same problem with the last patch and was able to fix it by updating every single driver for my system.

I mean every friggin driver, though it seemed updating the ones for the IDE controllers were the one that did the trick in the end.
