This thread hints that the game will be multithreaded and that the NWN2 toolset allready is.
Uh, I wouldn't go crazy buying some kind of 8 CPU system for this. But it will benefit from multiple CPUs/hyperthreading.

* shakes his head and grins * The scope of the Avlis project vastly exceeds what you are aware of, clearly. It's taken well over 10,000 man-hours to make what we have now. :)

I think you misunderstood...I was talking about starting the PW, not getting to the present state of Avlis. It would be impossible to get to this point without years of work, but one can always start.

A labor of love bears fantastic results. NWN, NWN2, or whatever... if you build it, they will come.

I hope a few years down the line NWN Avlis is still alive and kicking; the team and community that makes this place worthwhile are one of a kind... but NWN2 will come, and people will play it. If someone feels they are willing and capable of putting in the hard work that it takes to run a thing like this on another platform, then more power to them. If the Avlis community carries on to the next generation game, or even if it just sticks with this one, then that 10,000 hours of work has been well spent, IMHO.
