Main armor types
Plate: 8 base + 1 dex = 9
Chain: 5 base + 2 dex = 7
Scale: 4 base + 4 dex = 8
Studed: 3 base + 4 dex = 7
Leather: 2 base + 6 dex = 8
Padded: 1 base + 8 dex = 9
None: 0 base + no DEX limit

So, no armor is the best, but you need a hell of a DEX to make it work. And uncanny dodge ot you loose it all if flat-footed.

Scale is best middle option. Scale would be a good choice if you didn't have heavy armor feat. but I'd just go for plate.

You have 17 STR and so can carry plenty and so you can carry a fighting set, and a roguing set if you want.
