Question about magic item prices

Post by Kerrick » Wed Mar 28, 2007 3:54 am

I was just wondering... how much does resistance 5 vs. slashing, piercing, or bludgeoning cost as an enchantment? I want to make some PnP items with it, but it's not in the books.

Edit: And what about stuff like amulets of Will, that add a bonus to only one save?
<Loki70|IG> Umm, without magic, isn't Lafreth like an octogenarian in a bath robe?
<Vipact> I don't know what that is, but I'm pretty sure he has less than 8 sides.

I don't know why this is in Ask the Team, seems like it's more a Development or NWN General forum question.

Maybe it is for a guild item? Not sure...

Anyway, the way to find this out is in the toolset. When you create the item, as you add properties the base cost of the item increases. This is where you can see what the cost is in every permeation and configuration possible.

If you are wanting to know about this for PnP or some other personal project, I'd suggest bringing the topic up in General Discussion. Good luck.

No, just standard items... I didn't think to post this in NWN discussion.

Ah, ok. I have little to no ability with the toolset, but I'll play around with it and see if I can figure it out. Thanks.

I dont think that kind of damage reduction exists in PnP, At least not in any of the 1st party books.

In PnP (3.5) (we'll pretend everything is 5 for simplicity) you got:

barb or epic reduction 5/-

Magic reduction 5/magic(weapons)

Epic magic reduction 5/epic magic(weapons.+6 or higher)

material based reduction 5/adamantine,mithral,silver,etc

In 3.0 there was no material reduction, and the magic could have different +'s aka 5/+1 5/+2 etc

If I were you and I was going to implement the slashing/bludgeoning/piercing style reduction, id use the rules/prices for reduction vs special materials
