Im in, now what should I do?

Post by Kundan » Fri Nov 03, 2006 5:32 pm

Ive read through various posts and on the Wiki and done a few Fed-ex quests that I could find now im wondering what I should do next? I started in Le'Or T'Nanshi as I read it was about the best starting place for new players and since im a elf it just made the most since. But so far Ive only seen one other living soul in town and I only caught a glimps of them.

What im curious now is what to do? Should I move to a different town where more people are or stick here and try to level up to two or three going solo as a wizard? Going solo is typically boaring at most times but I can see needing to do it at a low level. Just wanting some advice from thoues who have been here awhile and know where the flow of people and/or the proper steps a newbie should take.

Thanks again for any help.

Are you sure it said Le'Or? I remember when I started, the recommended new-player starting spots Elysia and Mikona. Those are probably still the best two. Other servers are ok to start on too, but it helps if you're a little more experienced in the ways of Avlis or maybe if it's an alt where you can hop in when the action is good. There are lowbie hunting areas on just about every server, but the best places to meet people if you're new to Avlis are still Elysia and Mikona.

First of all....Welcome!!

Post your playing times (in GMT Format) and I have NO DOUBT *looks around the boards* that someone will pick you up and show you the ropes.

If you're a goody-goody, shame on you...errr I mean.. try Elysia and find a place called Elf Gate.

If you are super cool, try Mikona and find a place called "The Rock".

I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for

Have fun!!

Welcome to Avlis.

If you are in Le'Or, your best bet is probably to ask someone to guide you to Elysia. Best of luck. :good:

Server hoping isn't encouraged but it's not illegal. Besides, nothing you can do now. Enjoy Elysia.

(Funny thing... as a Player I hardly ever server hopped. Since I got the wand I do it far too often  though in my defense it's beacuse I can never remember which server I was last playing on).

Find a group of people and go adventuring, or sit aroudn elfgate meeting people and RP'ing. If your character is religious then you can start some religious guild activity. If not, you can join crafting guilds, military, guards, naturalists, magic using, whatever guilds. Just meet people have fun. And if your bored come down to Mikona another hub where you can find tons of people on. Mostly friendly, cept that Dameon guy  . haha have fun!

I server hop a lot. I have been told it's frowned on but honestly, I'm not lazy. It's got to be a navigational disability because even after 9 months of heavy playing I still get lost between Ferrell & Elysia at Elysia Elf Gate. And then, I finally think I know what I'm doing and a transition bug jumps me and I have no clue where I am anymore!

It is not considered wrong to server hop any more. This was the reason that the 60 minute delay was introduced. The idea is that the RL delay covers the IG time taken to travel from one server location to another if you actually travelled there IG, rather than doing a server hop.

This is also the reason that some servers do not allow a server hop - because they are too far away for a character to travel there in only one RL hour.

I started my character in Elysia under recommendations from a friend of mine, I still enjoy the place since it is among the best ones to meet peopoles and get opportunities for interesting aventures. Beside it, there is always some good folks willing to help you gain more experience and learn more about Avlis. If you are a real beginner you have plenty of challenges to suite your needs.

Have a tremendous fun around. :P

Well, Kundan, you saw me get lost the other day, and you told me then that you got lost, too. I thought you were just trying to make me feel better! :D I had no idea you were new, too. Next time I run across you, I will stop for a chat. I generally don't just walk up to people and start talking, especially if I think they're high level characters, which of course, you can't tell, so I wind up not talking to people unless they don't seem busy. If any of you see me and want to talk, I'm rarely on urgent business, and I'm always up for an adventure!
