I also tried WoW, but the utter boredom and stupidity of the game as well as the fact that half the players seem to have the same IQ as a dead pig (even on a RP server) made me quit pretty fast.
Me and missus have played WoW for a long time now, seems the game suits our IQ pretty well.

Other than that, I'm always playing something. Currently Dead Rising on 360

and Company of Heroes on pc. Both rock.

Not playing fekkin NWN, thats for sure.

I would still be mastering warcraft3 and starcraft, playing some more unreal 2004, medal of honor, and then whatever other new cool games come out that I haven't even bothered to keep up with anymore because my avlis addiction has made me not care.

I'd probably be playing over on Silver Spire. i been wanting to remake Sunder over there and restore him to his BG evilness

If not that, I'd probably be playing and running/DMing games over at NWConnections.Seriously been wanting to DM and tell stories for a long time.

I used to be a hardcore gamer before NWN and adulthood set in. I'd probably be playng some kind of FPS Deathmatch marathon somewhere, or finishing games like Oblivion, or playing more of Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War, or Call of Duty 2, or....etc..

Oblivion (because its RPG single player fun), Unreal Tournament 200x (becuase I get to shoot things in single player, LAN, and Internet modes), Ninja Gaiden (because it just rocks), Gun (on sale for $4.98 at Target, a deal you just can't beat , and because there is a certain amount of satisfaction to blasting something with a six gun ), Nocturn (if you have a PS2 you have to find a copy of this, one of the most unique games I have ever played, totally addicting, lucky for me there is no online mode.. yet), Halo and Halo2 (if you have to ask go back to your hole in the ground under the rock  )

Oh, I missed the why part.
I <3 Spire. A great group of people, fun roleplay, no game stress, lots to explore, and some of my favorite people play there.

Always an awesome way to spend an evening, whether it is sitting in a tavern telling stories, hack-n-slash killing frosties or something or even solo exploration. It's a total relaxed atmosphere. I have had so much fun there, I even flew down to hang with them, despite my fear of Texas.

Great DM to player ratio and they have cool language tokens, which I love. You can even speak zombie.

I'd play on NWConnections, because it's as close to PnP as you can get without the pizza. Of course, I *do* play there. 8-)

Pardon my off topic here but this made me laugh heartily as I recalled a letter written in the to good ol' Dragon Magazine about one Player's habit when his cleric got the spell "Speak with Dead."

Here, let me share.

(Sung to the tune of MR ED)

A corpse is a corpse, a corpse of course
And no one can talk with a corpse of course
Unless of course
You're me of course
'Cos I've got speak with dead!

(the letter goes on to say how he was singing that the entire session.....woooo be the overzealous player like that when the DM has had a rough day....or didn't get any the previous night. )

I like playing where there's a lot of people, so I'd probably go through the most popular worlds of NWN until I found one that suited me. City of Arabel, I haven't tried, but I've heard it's pretty RP and I've often seen a lot of people on there.

Given that I'd still be playing NWN, it would have to be ALFA, although it's been a long time, so I don't know how things are over there nowadays.

This is a good question to get the feel of everyone involved.

If I was to play NWN's somewhere else, it would probaly be either Brynsaar (sp) or Arabel.

If you are asking about other than NWN's, I am currently playing Battlefield 2, Counterstrike:Source, and Day of Defeat:Source.

I have played a game called Silkroad Online that is completely free to play and download. I have also played several other games such as Diablo 2 and NHL 2006.

If you look at my X-Fire profile below, you will see what I play.

Dunno.... Not been online for 10 months.

Have to say GF, GF, GF, Rome Total War, working on a PnP world. If I had my net connection back ((which will be end of the month! I get my first months pay cheque!)) I would be on Catara DMing and probably trying out Spires and Arkaz.

To be honest dunno where I'm going to end up when I get back online and with a new PC for NWN2. Currently I'm a online refugee.....

These are the two PWs that come to my mind as well, though there are also a few very nice other ones I have tried. These are very well-made PWs with a large enough amount of players. I stuck to Avlis mostly because I found it earlier and made some friends here.

My non-NWN time is divided between Guild Wars, Lineage 2, and real-life (right..) MTG. They offer a distinctively different playstyle compared to NWN, but fun nonetheless. Few things are really better if you want to play with a group of friends and there is never an issue of finding people to play with.

There are a bunch of good PWs out there.

Alangara

Annakolia

Catara

Layonara

I am not suggesting that you leave Avlis to try any of them.

There are alot of other worlds out there that are not persistent as much as they rotate around a campaign ... limited DMed session play... that do roleplaying:

Land of Etarnon

Ugas Daos

There are some other worlds out there... but the rules differ ... user beware:

A Land Far Away

City of Arabel

A lot of worlds have gone belly-up ... just not enough following to stay afloat. Really, even the numbers of players over on [url=http://forums.neverwinterconnections.com]Neverwinter Connections[/url are down... really down.

With less than 22 days until release of NWN2, who is really even thinking about NWN1 here? It seems like the transition has already started.

I am. It will be some time before a NWN2 PW can offer anything close to what Avlis offers now. I suspect I'll be thinking about NWN1 for quite some time still.

On NWN I'd play on Spire. I'd likely join WoW though and play with Trey.

Click the World of Warcraft link.

Spire is a very fun server. WoW becomes more interesting though as I see more of my friends going there. I'd love to PK them :D And maybe some of you!

Eve

I've been playing eve now for awhile....actually i started the free demo period....didnt continue,.. and then went back about a month later....economicly its brilliant...you can actually make a difference in local economies...However like most MMOG's its population can sometimes leave a lot to be desired...and while its advertised as a Role playing game, it certainly doesnt meet my definition of Role playing...

However, it is really pretty, and can be very fun.
