AA arrow enchant question

Post by Chemical-Burn » Sun Jun 18, 2006 1:56 am

What arrows actually work and whats the easiest way to see IG?

Seems you dont notice it on the character sheet when i looked as equiping a normal arrow (so should give AA enchant) compared to say a fire arrow (1d6 fire) except obviously fire damage shows on it.

So what arrows work and what to not? Everyone i ask has a 'guess' but nothing definite. Obvious normal 1gp quiver of arrows but anything else? burning? masterworked i heard from someone.

HOTU has a bow ,AA only, with unlimited ammo of the 1d6 fire. If those arrows didnt work with AA enchant at an epic level setting then why would they even put it in. An epic AA has to have close to +5 perhaps more so and would do guarentee'd damage = to that fire with no variable.

So what avlis arrows can an AA benefit from their training with?

Any arrow with bonus damage, the AA damage will stack with. Unless the arrow was like.. 'arrow +1' or 'arrow +2'. Elemental/racial specific damage, divine damage, etc. etc. ... it's all good. Unless the class has been changed specifically for Avlis in that regard, which I rather doubt but it's a possibility I guess.

Every arrow an AA uses gets the AA's sort of innate ability.

So, ignoring the 1d20 or extra bow dmg. ...
Someone with 15 AA lvls fires a normal arrow they'd get: +7
With +2 fire arrows they'd get: +7 +2 fire
+1d6 fire would still be: +7 +1d6 fire

i made a character in HOTU and tested. with a enchant arrow of 5 and weapon spec and epic weapon spec my character has:
1-8 +11 thats (+5 AA, +4 spec +2 epic spec) With plain arrows
but when i use arrows +1 it stays as the 1-8+11 on the character sheet

It should drop to 1-8 + 7 (+4 spec +2 epic spec +1 arrow) ... right?

No - it takes whatever is higher, the arrow bonus or the AA bonus. So with +6 arrows, you'd get +6 for a total of +12, with +5 arrows or lower, you'd use the AA bonus instead, which is +5, for a total of +11. Not that having arrows that are better than your AA is bonus is often an issue, but there you go.

so its one or the other? i was under the impression you got not AA bonus unless the arrow was not enchanted. not that it would enchant to that IF it was not that good already.
