Monks on speed.. A bannable offence?

Post by AyounTheDark » Tue Apr 18, 2006 1:37 pm

What about it?

Should these culprits who makes everybody else feel like snails/turtles/overburdened packmules be banned for their foul defiling use of extra speed (potions, abilities whatnot) , as its quite annoying to bear witness to someone able to head thru wilderness, from Mikona to Deglos Entrance in less than 2 RL minutes?

Cast ya vote and lets see..

Its a monk feature...besides having a 1d20 dmg bonus at lvl 20, cool looking glowing eyes and some lousy ac bonus.

Pfft, it helps when you leave an area before the baddies start to spawn. It's just corners in caves that pose a problem. Monk pinball.

You are just jealous and wish you had a cool monk like us.

I call out for all epic monks of AVLIS, quaff speed potions and PWN him, he's too slow to get away anyways.

I think it is the DMs on Speed who should be Banned. Have you seen how fast they can move? Well, of course, you haven't seen them - but trust me, they can really move.

The main problem with monks, and i don't want to turn this into a rant, is that people like Demandred, Loki, and papainhell decided to become one. A more suitable class for the trio of non-rpers would be that of an 'expert'. You know, that lowbie class used in PnP games where you need to create an NPC that just drives a wagon.

That's all you three are...wagon drivers!

j/k..i meant to add xarthna to the list

someone please point out one negative to being a monk
1. If you want to use any of the common weapons you need to waste a feat to. (I had pick the Martial weapon pro just to mine)
2. We may be fast and hard to hit but we have to be cause the armor we have sucks best you can get is a +2 and no base. Maybe throw in some resistance or reduction.
3. We do not get to pick our feats on some levels they are automatically picked for you. (took me till level 8 to use a freakin pick)

One more thing monks were made for one purpose only on DnD. They are the bane of spell casters hence the speed, and Spell resistance at level 12. If a monk can get to a caster before the spell is released and hit the spellcaster !WHAM! spell possibly wasted.

Yeah so we get some cool feats and some cool abilities like speed, quivering palm, flurry of blows, improved knockdown and some others I cant think of atm, but we also get less feats as well.
