Question on armor

Post by Trusted_One » Thu Apr 06, 2006 6:05 pm

Is there such thing as a full plate that can give a dodge AC bonus?

Some custom fullplate may be able to have the dodge feat, but not a dodge AC bonus. The type of AC bonus given depends on the item slot; armour and bracers gives armour bonus, boots give dodge, cloaks belts helms and rings with deflection, and amulets give natural.

However... [non-team disclaimer] I'm only 95% sure that this is accurate. [/disclaimer]

No, there is not. Armour always gives armour AC.

EDIT: Aeveras forgot gauntlets and weapons, which give deflection AC. And of course shields, with shield AC.

any item slot can give any sort of AC penalty though. So your armor could give -5 deflection or -3 dodge or -1 natural, but it can only give bonuses to armor type.

Just out of curiousity, with the old "bugged" merge system, would it have been possible to tag a holy robe with, say a +1 shield modifier by merging it with a shield? I'm doubting it'd work, or if it did the engine would just straight-up whoop your ass.

*shrugs* Interesting idea, if nothing else. :P
