So many things, so little time...

Post by AyounTheDark » Thu Mar 09, 2006 7:55 am

Am I alone in this..?

I keep seeing new open plots that appeals soo much to my characters, that I really really feel a strong urge to join up on..

But there's already now to many things I've neglected IG with my character, and I feel kinda bad about that I haven't done enough for.. Among others the guilds I am member of.. :(

I play an average of 6-8 hrs. a day, so there oughta be plenty of time... But damn. There's not. *grits teeth*

How do you feel about ya IG time? Too few gaming hrs? Do you get the things done ya want or not?

(And then there's the importance of keeping track of what happens at the boards too.. phew)

I know the feeling. I don't have time to play every day and mostly it is just a few hours lately. Since I am also in more guilds and involved in two dm plots and I'm having my hands full with all sorts of CvC action, I can barely find enough time to do everything. Which means neglecting apprentices and missing out on meetings.
And then there is always the problem of finally having a whole day to play and then the people you want to do things with are not around :( .

But hey... I have the same problem in RL, so I'm getting used to it by now. :D

Indeed....

If i look at my two characters (one involved in some of the same plots as you ayoun) it is terrible to keep up with both..

Sometimes i wish i could split myself so one part of me could play avlis and the other halve school ;)

I have two mains these days.

Whichever has a DM event gets automatic priority. If both have an event at the same time Al tends to get slight priority as he has a greater character depth at the moment.

Other than that its whoever had a player driven meeting scheduled first.

If neither had anything planned first I'll tend to look who is on the servers and pick the character that has the most friends online, other than that its usually Al who gets the opportunity unless I'm in a bad mood and go off to whack stuff with my Malekite

Only TWO? I only really play 5 out of countless characters that for some reason or another, don't work for me anymore... But it's balanced out between Kezia and Milo... And no, there isn't enough time.

If I could, I would honestly stay home all day and play Avlis, watching Trigun in the mornings when I'm not really awake, and get back to playing Avlis... But class prevents that...

No one really tells either of my cahracters anything, so... It's all a matter of if I want to be really random and nutty and stuff, or calm and probably upset over something.

And -then- I try to go and make a new person, just to see if I can get myself involved in anything and then I'd regret it because that's MORE friends I have to keep up with..

Since I'm very rarely involved in any DM plots or whatnot, it's just tough having my two mains having completely different groups of friends, all being on at the same general time... I try to make it so I play one every other day, but.. Sometimes that doesn't work. ¬.¬;;;

Man do I hear this. With my work schedule and my other committments outside of Avlis I am only able to play a few hours a week and maybe for a decent stint on one of the weekend days. All of my RL friends who sucked me into this damned addicting joy that is Avlis are all now nearly Epic while I am struggling to hit 11th level.
Now I am in the situation of I have very few people to actually go and adventure with. Not only dangerous but less fun and less chance of GM love. On top of this IMO its seems that guilds that I have membership in have no use for me because I am not a high level character. I am so frustrated that I have considered letting the whole thing go and quitting. Its hard to advance if you can't play. (Sorry for the Rant - ness of this)

Can I get paid real money for playing Avlis all day every day (obviously food/ toilet/ cig breaks allowable)? If I could then maybe, just maybe my two key characters would get played more. Currently, the char I'm playing at the moment is the most involved with various people and events, but, my other character has his aspirations too, it's just splitting the time between the two of them. Then of course the other numerous opportunities to create different characters to fulfil other pipeline opporunities.... So, unless I can give up my day job and play 8-12 hours a day, whilst being paid a lot of money, the answer is simply NO! There is not enough time to do all that you want!

Sticking to playing one character one day/ eve and another the next (unless there's a specific reason) is about the best I can suggest.

How on earth do people manage more than one Main?I play 6-7 hours in the weekdays and close to 24 in weekends when RL is suspended, but still not enough time.

Tues, Weds, Thurs and Fridays I'm sort of booked with Guild events.
In between I have to craft Potions, and all sorts of consumables to stock back up. Then there is improving new Crafts (currently trying to work two in tandem).

And IG events are leading yet to another guild...

I'm trying to get a friend to quit smoking as I said its just a question of addiction and will power. He said he will if I can quit Avlis... :?
I think I understand a bit better the addiction of smokers... :)

What game are you all playing? 95% of the time I spend online I can't find anything to do anymore.

Pick the important ones, Ayoun.
I get too busy sometimes and then I just pick what is most important to my PC.
Strangely enough, I then go weeks with little or nothing to do. It will balance out, I am sure. :)
