it adds up to 2 points of your STR bonus to the damage given out by a hit

it also adds up to 2 points of your strength bonus to your attack as well, unless I'm mistaken.

It's Damage only.. the Rock Elm Bow is +5 mighty... a +5 to hit on a craftable bow would be insane.

All bows give a - dmg value if your STR mod is negative. For intance if you have a str of 8 then any bow would give you -1 to dmg. Crossbows work different though as you wont get a -dmg penelty ((cuz they suck for ranged based PCs

))

Can someone clarify this .....my understanding was that you get +2 mighty bonus only if your strong enough to wield it ...IE your strength has to be at least +2
if say you had a +1 of strength there would be no point having a +5 mighty bow as the effect would be limited due to the strength being only +1

Thanks,

Thanks,
you will get as much of the mighty bonus as your strength bonus is.
so
+5 mighty bow and +1 STR bonus = +1 damage
+5 mighty bow and +5 STR bonus = +5 damage
+5 mighty bow and +8 STR bonus = +5 damage

Even if you do NOT have a ST bonus intrinsic to your character, popping a bull's will up your stat quite a bit and THEN it DOES matter, especially with militant bonusses.

Thanks Al ,exactly what i wanted:)
