Advice about coming back and remembering details
Hello all,
I was hoping to start playing Avlis again after being gone about a year. My character knew lots of people and had tons of information on just about everyone she met, but I have personally forgotten it, and lost my notebook I had used to help me remember all the details.
So...any advice on how she should reintegrate into society? I hate the "amnesia" idea, but I know there are a ton of people she met and knew well that I just cannot remember. To me it sounds ridiculous when she is saying. "Hello, who are you?" to people she adventured with and knew very well.
Thank you for any advice!

You don't need amnesia. You have been away for a long time (years in Avlis terms), so when you return people don't remember you and you don't remember them. If you do meet anyone who seems vaguely familiar, then just RP that - 'Have we met somewhere before? Your face looks familiar but I regret I cannot recall your name?'
I do that all the time - even if I met people last week. I am dreadful with names - both on Avlis and in RL. Advanced age I suppose - senility creeping in.

Life is never as bad as you think it is, although that doesn't help at the time.

Aw, Rello! Rhissaerk won't ever forget Rello. Course, Rhiss ain't around much these days either. But I'm sure most folks will remember you and be glad to help remind you who they are!
As for advice on how to RP it, eh, just say Rello was running around in circles so fast her brain fell out and when she pushed it back in it was even MORE scattered then before! *grins*

best bet is if people remember you its fair enough that you can use their floaty to bump your own memory.
Your character wont have forgotten them, so its not bad metagamey to use the floaty in this instance

*is slightly hurt that Rello would not remember the wolf-head helmet he gave her*
