Sequencing Robes
Doubtful anyone will ever recieve one of these but my damn curiosity got the best of me again. How exactly does the spell release on these robes work out? I know you can cast a cast on self spell on the robe to store it and release it on a once per day basis but does activating the robe count as your PC casting the spells or activating an item? What I wondered was if you activate the robe and have something like Tenser on or ge silenced does spell failure play a factor? Even better can you get these spells to combo as in storing a shapechange-dragon and tenser to make one uber dragon mage? I cant seem to figure this one out myself so hopefully all you sages out there can shed some light on the subject.
Here's to a long life and a merry one, a quick death and an easy one, a pretty girl and an honest one, a cold pint and another one!

Re: Sequencing Robes
I am pretty sure...
It's basically an x uses per day item (depending on the robe), but you get to choose what spell it casts x times per day by casting spells on it.
Spell failure does not play a factor in the use of the robe.
The robe does not store metamagic to my knowledge, and casts the spell at the bioware default caster level (i.e. the lowest level you can possibly be and still cast that spell.. 5th for fireball, 7th for stoneskin, etc.)
When you shapechange, the engine unequips your equipped gear, IIRC, so you couldn't use it while changed into a dragon. However, I think you could cast tensors on yourself, then use a sequenced shapechange to achieve the cracked-out dragon effect you're looking for.

They were handed out to a fair number of characters on Hala (at the end of a certain plot all participants received one), and some of them came back to Avlis with them.DarknessFallsLight wrote:Doubtful anyone will ever recieve one of these

Thats... wow considering that sequencers are on the list of banned properties.Khaelindra wrote:They were handed out to a fair number of characters on Hala (at the end of a certain plot all participants received one), and some of them came back to Avlis with them.DarknessFallsLight wrote:Doubtful anyone will ever recieve one of these

It was always impressive to see Ayiree cast Shadow Shield and Premonition before entering combat...neat for a Bard/ArcaneArcher!
I don't think many of the owners are still active though, so it's not so horrible...

From what I can gather they were given out before sequencers got on the banned properties list.Beary666 wrote:Thats... wow considering that sequencers are on the list of banned properties.
Always consider alignment as a tool, not a straitjacket that restricts the character.
