Does Wounding property stack

Post by Dirk Cutlass » Thu Dec 08, 2005 5:18 pm

If I have Wounding (1) on, say some arrows, and I hit someone with them 5 times, does the wounding damage accumulate, i.e. they get 5 points per round (assuming they failed the DC of course)?

Does Wounding work OK, or is it a bit like Vampiric Generation (which is a little dodgy due to server lag)?

What is the save for the Wounding ? Fortitude I assume.

Thanks.

Tried wounding goblins before... successful Wounding does stack

Say if you hit a successful Wounding attempt 3 times on different rounds...
the goblin will bleed 3 times per round. Not sure of the duration though.

I'm pretty sure it's a Fortitude save. :)

Slight bug to Wounding:
Bleeding target runs towards you even if you're invisible or hidden.
If bleeding target dies, surrounding NPCs can suddenly see you (even if hidden or invisible) and start attacking.

Duration is until a heal kit or healing spell or regen fires on you.

Note that any kind of damage reduction or resistance will nullify wounding completely.

by anykind is it blanket or do you mean specific? So if you had a dagger of wounding and someone had peircing resistance it would negate but what about other types?

Anyone fancy doing an experiment? It would be intersting to know that. I mean, I can see why wounding from an arrow (piercing) would be nullifyied by an archer belt or general purpose DR (like stoneskin... but presumably you'd loose 1 point off the stoneskin), but not by a brawler belt.

If its a bug, then can it be fixed, or is it hard-coded?

Resistance and reduction prevent it.. not sure if it's dependent on the damage type of the weapon for resistance, but it's very easy to prevent it doing anything.

Wounding counts as slashing dmg and is stopped by DR.

Had occasion to test this a lot when a char of mine had a rapier of wounding, and encountered a bodak.

Me attacks bodak, bodak is wounded.. me dies to death gaze. Me was unable to rest on the whole server to regain my HP afetr doing death quest due to 'X is wounding Bodak for 0 pts of dmg* messages hounded me all the time, each round.

Wounding damage, as of the last Bioware patch, is now supposed to stop when you exit an area.
