Settings in ini files

Post by Nighthawk4 » Fri Nov 11, 2005 5:16 pm

Sorry guys, I know this has been asked before many times - some of them by me - but I can't find the answers.

I have just reinstalled and so I need the various changes which need to be made to the ini files in NWN please.

1. How do I stop the splash screens when I start NWN?
2. How do I enable window mode?
3. How do I enable logging?

Any others please?

Then all I have to do is work out how to stop my PC from locking up when I am on Avlis :?

1. no idea, didn't know you could.
2. under [display options] enter

AllowWindowedMode=1

and change FullScreen=1 to FullScreen=0

3. in nwplayer.ini under game options you need

ClientChatLogging=1

Thanks to Google, I can now post the answer to my first question:

To disable the Intro movies, add the line

Disable Intro Movies=1

to the [Display Options] section in your nwn.ini file.

Also, if you leave out the word Intro it disables all movies/cut scenes i.e.

Disable Movies=1

:wink:

Here's a hint: next time you reinstall, save your NWN.ini, your NWNplayer.ini and your NWNcdkeys.ini files on a secured backup location. Just copy them back once you've reinstalled and you're set. I think I would go mad if I had to redo all those options and key-mappings each time I reinstalled, so I have a backup of those files on a secure remote location at all times.
So much fun,
yet so little time to enjoy it.

Does anyone by chance know the name of the TXT file that shows up as your IG editable journal? I heard one could put a TXT file somewhere and it would replace what you have as your journal.
