OpenGL question
OK. Since I have an ATI PoS Video card (128Mb) and it crashes every 20 seconds if I am involved in any sort of situation, it constantly is jerky, and the fact that my mouse cursor (on every Open GL game I have tried) flickers in and out of existance, I am wondering if anyone knows where to DL OpenGL2.0 or even a slightly older version.
I have performed search engine looks for this, but it doesnt seem to be as easy as getting ahold of DirectX. I am at a complete loss.
BTW, I have an ATI PoS(Piece of Shit) Radeon 9700 (128Mb)
And yes, the rest of my computer should have no problems with this game, in the least, as the specs are extremely high.
Thanks in advance,

good luck finding any opengl 2.0 support from ati. they moved their main focus to directx 9 support and there is limitted compatability with opengl now.
they only have the latest versions of their catalyst drivers for download as well.
try guru of 3d
they have all the old drivers for every card you can think of and lots more wicked cool stuff. they might have opengl 2.0 for your ati card if you fish around a bit.

Nobody listens to me until I fart.
Well, I noticed that Halflife2 plays with OpenGL and that it was supposedly made specifically with ATI in mind. My 9700 either sucks in OpenGL mode, or OpenGL is somehow corrupt (if that's possible).leprechaun wrote:good luck finding any opengl 2.0 support from ati. they moved their main focus to directx 9 support and there is limitted compatability with opengl now.

What is OpenGL? Is it the same as DirectX?
If so, why cant I find a download for it anywhere?

Try this site - I have a Radeon 9700 and the Omega 2.6.42 driver - NWN runs without a problem. I typically run with everything except environmental shadows and the *only* place I"ve hit lag on Avlis that is obviously due to the graphics and not to connection issues is the Seven Heavens dp. Lots of animated water (waterfalls) can also be a pain - but a quick adjustment to the graphic options in NWN sorts that out. I also tend to play without grass, as I go sick of the clipping - but running full grass doesn't slow things down.
