How does one become a blackguard?
I was wondering what one would have to do to unlock the blackguard when leveling up. Thanks. Deth

Basically, your character worships Maleki. He, or she, must be a devout follower. Live Maleki's dogma. Getting known for this helps.
Then, when you meet the prereq's for the actualy class, your charcter hopefully would be in the Holy Order of Maleki, the Reavers. This would being allowed to take the class much much easier. The unlocking of the class is done through a short DM-run event, or possibly unlocked by the guild leader (not sure if this is already implemented).
What's different from say taking a fighter level is that in Avlis being a Blackguard means being the epitome of a follower of Maleki. His worshippers have respect for you, and the way you serve your Lord.
Getting access to the Evil Characters forums also helps.
Making contacts with the reavers should be easy enough if your character travels to M'Chek.
Hope that helps

speaking to the grumpy dwarf is not advised..
honestly...to learn more about maleki/blackguards...head to mikona and look up the reavers...thats where theyre at mostly, look for Sethra, Sunder, or any of those folks...they should be able to help you with the blackguard thing if youre serious about it.

Reavers... Maleki
Reavers... Firefly
"Them people ain't human." As we learn from the BDH Book of Jayne.
I'd say staying away from them would be a better way to maintain good health. Blackguards are overrated anyway.
On the other hand, scoundrels, especially scruffy looking ones...
That's the way to go.

First of all, read this:
portal.php?getpage=maleki
Read it well and look at ALL aspects of the God, not just the Slaughterlord, form your own thoughts on this.
Next, come up with a good well rounded character conception as 2 dimensional serial killers have been done millions of times and not one of them was worth the effort.
Now, most importantly, get in the game and RP, get yourself noticed, speak to the right (or wrong people) as others have said there are the reavers and when you think you're ready send an email to staff@avlis.org with your PC's background and what he has been doing to be noticed by maleki (though it's better if you get noticed ingame
).
Oh and finally, read this:

Also, PM Plethora if you want to be part of The Maleki, Verossa and Evrak Faithful forums, if you have not already.
