Halberd, Scyth, Morning Star vrs damage resistance Items
Yesterday when fighting "Jack" I noticed that he was absorbing 5 pts of damage from my halberd strikes. Now it is possible that he has a generic 5 pts absorption item but that seems most unlikely, I suspect simply a belt of the swordsman. I should have checked his body but didn't notice the damage reduction at the time.
Now a halberd does slashing and piercing damage and I understood that to mean you need to block both or else there is no reduction. The same is true of a scyth, and a morning star does blugoning and piercing.
Does anyone know if Bioware just messed this up? Or is my understanding of the way these weapons work wrong?
I will check this out when I can get a volunteer in game just to see.

I have an item that gives a generic 5 points damage reduction, so they do exist.Spell Singer wrote:Yesterday when fighting "Jack" I noticed that he was absorbing 5 pts of damage from my halberd strikes. Its possible the damages is split half and half on these weapons. No idea really. Post the results of your test. Now a halberd does slashing and piercing damage and I understood that to mean you need to block both or else there is no reduction.
