Spelljamming knockaround up

Post by Orleron » Fri Feb 04, 2005 4:11 am

If you ftp to orleron.com and log in as anonymous, you can get the hak we're using for the soon-to-be spelljammer server for CoPaP.

I'm also running a test mod at orleron.com:5121 with no password. It's still very buggy because it's at an in-between stage for some code, but you can still get a good idea of how the space battles will look like.

Feel free to try it out.

I'm not able to connect to the server. Is anyone else having trouble? (I got the haks fine)

wtf? My brain is frying here. I went into my router firewall and opened up port 5121, and pointed it to 192.168.0.100, which is my only machine. The ftp and remote desktop both work fine with the same stats. Why won't NWN? It's the same damn setup as Avlis. I must be doing something really stupid and obvious that I don't see it.

Can the same setup be used for naval battles?

Says I'm missing two haks. One "update" something and one arcane tileset hak. I downloaded the hak for ftp://orleron.com .

There should be three files on orleron.com. You need all three of them to get onto the server.

Now I won't be left wandering the flow after my ship gets trashed! Yay!!

Seriously, the mod looks niffty as all get-out... the interface is going to take some major adjusting to though.

I've got the beginnings of ship grappling coded. Try a boarding action when you get close to the enemy ship.

Bah! I keep getting connection errors trying to connect to the ftp site.
Cute FTP wrote:STATUS:> Getting listing ""...

ERROR:> The remote host actively refused the attempt to connect to it.
1) Verify that the destination server name or IP address is correct
2) Verify that the connection port number is correct (under Site Settings | Type tab).
3) The remote server may be temporarily or permanently inaccessible (try again later).
4) Verify that you have chosen the right protocol (SSH2, SSL, FTP, etc.) and have setup all required options for that protocol.
5) Verify that the destination IP address and port numbers are correct.
6) The remote server may be refusing multiple connections from the same client. Try using only one connection thread when connecting to this particular server (Site Settings | Options).
7) Try pinging the address.
8) If you are using a router, verify the router is up and running (check by pinging it and then ping an address outside of the router).
9) Do a traceroute to the destination to verify all routers along the connection path are operational.
10) Verify that your subnet mask is setup properly.
11) Verify that your local software or hardware firewall is not blocking outbound connections originating from CuteFTP.
12) Verify that your anti-virus software is not at fault (try disabling it).
can someone make any sense of this error for me please?

Okay.

Dunno if it should be working this way. Seems like I'm stuck in eternal combat with a merchantman...(Uh, I guess piracy doesn't pay?)

Manage to get in close and grapple, but choosing the boardparty option doesn't do anything.(Not implemented yet?)

Also, I dunno why, but it seems like even 1 damage from the merchie will sink my lamprey.

1) This is a bug I'm watching. You should go into death sequence if you lose.

2) You did not put the correct type of hull points on your lamprey, or you did not use your captain symbol on the hullpoints to make them take effect.

3) Boarding not implemented yet, only grappling, cutting grapples, and small arms fire is.

The cool thing about small arms fire is if you start killing off their crew, they won't have enough people to man weapons and you'll see their firepower start to decrease. Firing at far range does a certain amount of crew killing on both sides. Firing when grappled does more.

Crew members that you buy above and beyond the minimum are your boarders. The more you have, the more you'll kick ass, and I'm going to need to put an upper limit on it right now.

Well, I can't connect to the ftp with anything else than IE no matter which options I choose- I tried every combination. And with IE, I only see the folder "pub" with 1 file, IthillaAS.rar, in it.

What might be wrong?
