Kwick Question for a Newbie...(CEP)

Post by the_KaJ » Fri Dec 10, 2004 10:59 pm

I downloaded the CEP and all the required Avlis hakfiles...
and I've gotten my application accepted, passwords, etc...

So I go to create new character in one of the servers, and there seems to be none of the CEP additional content? Its my understanding there should be more heads, portraits, voicesets, etc?
I double clicked on the CEP file and successfully installed it already.
Is there something I'm missing?

You need to do something for it, override folder something. I will not post my huge sized link because all the instructions already on the boards did not work for me :(

Sounds credible Krator...thanks.

Can anyone help out? I sort of need like Specific directions...I'm not uber computer understander :(

Btw, I'm impressed by what I've seen of Avlis. Even the forums. Thank you anyone who replies.

:( And I suppose u mean cep isnt nwn...?

anyways in the hak folder there is a cep2da.hak file ...does this need to go somewhere else? I think i recall playing on another server that had a .2da file that went somewhers besides the hak folder.

That content is for NPCs. AFAIK, there are no new voicesets. There are a number of Avlis portrait packs put together by Avlis players. Check the downloads page - I think there's a link to them there. As for heads, you can extract the heads from the CEP (if there are any) and dump them in your override folder. Then you can choose them in character creation. However, that is a completely unsupported feature on Avlis. You do so at your own risk. We don't have the time to support this. If you corrupt your charcter down the road because of it - you lose your character. All in all, I wouldn't suggest messing with it.

You most likely have a different version of the game than the Avlis servers, meaning that you might have 1.63 or 1.65 and the Avlis servers run 1.64 right now. The way to get to 1.64 if you have 1.65 is to find the critical rebuild (I think that is what it is called) on biowares homepage and use that. If you have 1.63 you need to update to 1.65 and then do the above. Welcome to Avlis! :)
