NOticed after update...

Post by Arnimane » Tue Nov 09, 2004 1:11 am

So my char. is walking thru the wilds and happens upon some fo those "fearsome" Verossans. My question is this....

First, they changed shape a BUNCH before engaging, healed each other(nice touch)...now here's the rub....they also cast while in animal form? Is that legal?

Also, no robes dropped when they died. How is one to help poor Calador out wit no robes? Is this because they died in animal forms?

They shouldn't be casting while in wildshape.
And from what I recall, they only drop robes in normal form, not animal, so that is correct.

But it was so much fun watching a dire badger spit fire from it's mouth. Thought someone had given them breath weapons. Also, even when killed in human form they don't seem to drop robes. Aren't druids supposed to revert to normal form when they die?

We keep telling those Chaotic Evil NPCs to follow the rules, but they just won't listen!

As far i remember is in D&D rules some feat that allow druids casting while they are in animal form so i suppose its one of the cases NPCs can d something a PC can not (like that druids can turn into morn then 5 animals but PCs "never learned" other forms)

Nature Casting.

Nifty feat. Combine it with Eschew Materials, Automatic Still Spell and Automatic Silent Spell and you can fly around as a little tweetybird, while inconspicuously raining empowered Firestorms on the land... 8)

I noticed this also, it seems pretty pointless - they keep changing into different forms like they can't decide what to do.

I suspect there have been AI tweaks in 1.64. Some things (like those druids) seem to be using their special abilities more, others (like salt beetles, bests, spiders in Ferrell) seem to be using their special abilities less.

Add to that my summoned succubus that no longer just spams spells one after the other until they run out, but actually tries to make intelligent use of them. Her favored tactic now is to cast haste on herself and then charge in, fists flying.

Add to that that the spark beetle's ability to stun no longer offers resistance on a saving throw. Ouch.
