Monk Speed and Haste stack! OMG

Post by eNTrOpY » Tue Feb 24, 2004 4:14 pm

Well I played my monk yesterday for the first time since the last patch and found to my surprise that Monk Speed bonuses and Haste stack!

I haven't seen this kinda speediness since DM avatar speed. Cross-area run in record time!

Can't multiclass a Monk and Barbarian. Alignment penalty. You can try making a barbarian, and then taking monk levels, but I'm pretty sure NWN actually works in one regard to the whole Monk levelling issue and doesn't let you take levels in monk if you didn't take them at first level. If you take the monk levels first, as soon as your alignment changes from Lawful, you lose all your monk bonuses. Not quite sure if that applies to Barbarians as well, but it shouldn't.

Other than that, if you can manage to level in both while retaining Lawfulness, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't stack, and also stack with haste. Barbarian speed is natural, Monk speed is supernatural, and a function of their training. Haste is magical. Works, by the PnP rules, although by PnP rules, you couldn't make a multiclassed Monk/Barb without a shitload of cheesing involved.
<Sili> I've seen septic tanks with less shit in them than Fuzz.

<Ronnin> damm not even a kiss??
<Chasmania> Kiss Fuzz? I'd rather fellate a goat.

<Chasmania> there are many roads to Rome..they just picked a shit filled alley full of scabby hookers and bums.

The shape of things to come...

The best thing that made me fall out of my chair was when NWN was first released and I was playing a dwarf fighter who got hasted. That is still the best thing to get me to chuckle .... a short folk whose as wide as he is tall moving his feet so fast you can barely make them out!
