Question about bonus spell slot items

Post by Brock Fanning » Wed Jan 21, 2004 5:17 pm

Can you give an item a Level 7 bonus Bard spell? There are not any level seven bard spells, but maybe the slot could be used for metamagic? Just curious,

No.

Fighters do it face to face, Rogues may do it from behind, Rangers can do it from a distance, Wizards do it from out of nowhere, Clerics may not do it at all, Barbarians may do it in a rage, Sorcerers can do it on a whim, Bards on a note, but Paladins have to pay for it!

But true.
So much fun,
yet so little time to enjoy it.

Haha! I knew that Strangg was dirty liar so I gave myself a crash-course in toolset technology and tried it out and it works! :P
Guess I could have done that in the first place, but at least this way I get to prove Strangg wrong, and that's always fun! 8)

you mean you gave your Bard access to metamagic'd 6th level spells?

Wouldn't that mean that you could metamagic 9th lev cleric.wiz spells too?
Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

No, the toolset only allows me to add spell slots up to 9th level. There's no way to do 10th level or higher. Basically I created a belt that gave one bonus 7th level bard spell, and then I put it into a module and tried it with a local-vault version of Hargas. With the belt on I could cast 6th level spells while wearing plate armor (using still spell).

Well now I know what I'll go for if a custom item trade-in ever happens again (yes I know it will never happen :x )

On a side note, I was looking through the list of powers you can put on an item, and I was intrigued by the one called "chickenegg". I put this on the above mentioned belt... When used, it explodes and my character says "splash". Any idea what this is about?
