cant log in

Post by button » Mon Oct 06, 2003 3:08 am

Hello everyone,
I'm new and I can't log in to any of the servers- I'm told that my password is incorrect. Not a caps issue. I have all the haks (from Jordicus' site), and the last time I tried to log into Mikona, I was told I was banned! (at least give me a chance to screw up..). Any ideas? Thanks
So, why not make 10 the loudest?

But... .... .... this one goes to 11!

Oh, I forgot to tell you that I have 1.32 installed. Is this the problem? What patch do most of you use? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, to tell you but they have now instated a random banning policy for Avlis to inspire fear in us all. Fortunately for you it happened before you could actually get addicted like others. Since the community is growing they figured they do not have enough people to patrol newbie's and keep more experienced players in line so in their infinite wisdom they are making examples out of a few for the good of the many. Sorry.

If NWN tells you you have the wrong password, then that is what is you have. Are you sure you are using the correct port + password combination? Make sure you use the passwords for the server and not your boards password or your gamespy password (trust me: it happens).

The banning occurrs when you enter a wrong password for a server a certain number of times. It's simply an NWN anti-serverhacking precaution measure. It will not put you on the permanent Avlis banning list.

Every single case like this that has ever occurred has been because the person is tying in the password incorrectly. Every one of them... even when they swear they aren't. Take another look, and don't use cut'n' paste.

99.9% of all mis-typed passwords are due to not capitalizing properly, especially when it comes to a certain 2 letter preposition....

Fighters do it face to face, Rogues may do it from behind, Rangers can do it from a distance, Wizards do it from out of nowhere, Clerics may not do it at all, Barbarians may do it in a rage, Sorcerers can do it on a whim, Bards on a note, but Paladins have to pay for it!

Thanks for the replys. Well, I'm stuck. I've tried every combo of upper/lower caps, and I even threw in some spaces here and there for the hell of it- still no luck. Could the length of the password have something to do with it? Mine is pretty short, and I SWEAR it's the same one I got in my registration confirmation email: the one I just used to make this post. I'm sure it's something stupid, but I could still use some help.

There you go, you're using your password for the boards. Look for the confirmation email to your application rather than the message board confirmation email. The passwords for the servers are there. If you haven't applied yet, do so: portal.php?getpage=application_form and you should get a response in a couple days, or maybe a bit longer.

Hehehe...yep, I knew it...something stupid indeed. Wow, do I feel intelligent! Oh well, at least I have my application in now. Thanks for the help, everyone, and I hope to see you soon.
