Wave from Sinn

Post by sinn » Tue Jun 23, 2015 8:19 pm

Hello Hello!

Here I sit listening to 80's music (Bon Jovi and Def Leppard) on my new rig (laptop) because The Millennium Falcon (my OLD laptop that managed to last 11 years with only 1 roll of duct tape) had to be put out to pasture.

I have been AFK from Copap from ummm.. a long time, due to The Falcon failing and RL stuff (MY BOYS ARE 10 and 9 years old now SHIT!)

None the less I am debating installing NWNs on this new laptop.. hmm it needs a name.... how about... Grease Lightening!

Anyways... can anybody tell me approximately how many people still play this game old as dirt? If Copap is still kicking I may try to install NWNs again, and figure out how to make the graphics work correct ( in the past I heard that was the hardest thing to deal with when installing on a new machine). I may stick to RPing only for a bit or jump back into DMing again too right away.

I look forward to any replies, and hope you all have been all fine and dandy and stuffs :D

Love the SINN

(will post this on each of the 3 forums.. if there are still 3 forums)

Hi, good to hear from you again, and hope that things have been going good for you in RL, and that you and your family have been well. There are still a bunch of us left that still play on Avlis and CoPaP. So, in my own biased opinion...its worth getting NWN on your new PC.

Thanks for the well wishes...but....well..nevermind. Thanks anyways.

Hope to see you around soonish.

Still playing after all of these years.... and my husband managed to get NWN running on a newer Mac Laptop for me, so there is hope.

well I threw all my CDs in and all that stuffs... seems I cant update the game the old way. (of course)

if there some thread with links to a place for me to download the correct files? namely the ' nwn_x12_english_from1638048_to1698109.zip ' and instructions on where to put them (yes I saved my Hak folder and Tlk folder from the old laptop)

thanks!

EDIT FOUND THIS - http://www.neverwinternights.info/players.htm and http://neverwintervault.org/patch/nwn1/ ... n-sou-hotu

It really depends if you want some of the other stuff and if you've previously downloaded customizations that you want to keep.

Here are some others directories and what you'll find in them:

erf - there are files in here that come from copap packs
localvault - in here will be the in-game character journals, one for each char you created in files named like: <charname>.txt. The .bic files in here are local saved copies of your chars.
logs - chat logs
music - there may be a few avlis-specific sound files in here; not required, but custom stuff
override - if you installed any visual overrides you'll want this
texturepacks - in here will be a couple of .erf files

I hope that helps.

For what it's worth I'm still around with 40+ characters in my vault to play with. I thought I'd be IG more than I have, but I made the mistake of downloading ESO last week.
