NWN locks up on entering the Elysian temple to Aarilax

Anyone else having this problem? NWN locks my computer pretty hard when I enter the temple. I don't know of any problems elsewhere in Avlis. No error messages or anything, just sits at the load screen and won't respond.

My DM Avatar had some messages about equipping items as I entered, but nothing else.

Could this be a Hak issue?

This is usually caused by an out dated .hak or a graphics issue.

I'll double check which .haks I have. I'm usually on top of those, but maybe I missed one somewhere along the way. I figured maybe it was a really strong Unhallow spell that was keeping out my LG character by crashing my machine!

Back in 2009 there were a lot of problems with the AKN building at Visimontium causing crashes. If you look at this thread it suggests that crystals set to static are the problem. (Ignore the Ubuntu reference, it applied to all OS.]

I haven't visited the Aarilax temple so I don't know if there are crystals though.

A slight tangent, but I have one PC who reliably - but not predictably - crashes NWN for me if I take him to Ferrell (and only Ferrell). Doesn't seem to be an issue for my other PCs..!

@ Quinkish: Yes, Visi AKN was an issue with the big gems they have there. I had the same problem when adding them in the AJA at one location before that visi place was an idea even, and reported it many times (with very specific details on what the problem is, and even easy fixes) as a good bug reporter when it started happening to them.

*Mutters* A shame I wasn't able to fix stuff then.

So... it seems that the problem occurs when the "Enable Environment Shadows" is checked. *shrugs*

I'll just have to remember to uncheck it before I go in... It isn't like I'm liable to visit all that often!
