Unauthorized CD-Key?

Post by Ykirhs » Sat Jun 21, 2003 3:25 am

Grr... rowr. Annoyed...

Strangley enough, I can install SoU, connect to Gamespy... no problem, even tried connecting to a few random servers, no problem.
Then I rev up Kyle's launcher, no problem... enter username/password... Ok. Connect to Server, no problem... then:
Connection to Server Failed
Connection Failure: Your CD Key is Unauthorized

Try again over at Mythos... zorch, same thing.

I get the same message if I use my shortcuts. But if I log in through gamespy I can get in fine.

I think this has to do with kyles launcher not using the SoU executable - and rather the original NwN executable or something like this. I would imagine he will update it soon.

Indeed it is related to Kyles Launcher 1.1
Someone mentioned they used Kyles Launcher and it worked fine, but didn't mention what version they were using...

Using direct shortcuts with command lines placed on the desltop leads to "CD key unauthorised" error as well.
Gamespy allows to connect, but takes longer and is more laggy and more unstable.. grr.

I use Kyle's Launcher I belive it's version 1.1, and I doubt it's ever going to get updated :)

I don't have SoU installed, so that may be why I don't have any problem. I'm not going to say just how pissed I'm going to be if I have to use that !$%@#$%@#$%@#$%#@% Gamecrap. Or even the stupid LAN connect method.

Same problem here. I found that if I click on "direct connect" and type in an address, it works, but if i launch from the command line like i usually do, it says my CD key is invalid.

There is a problem in SoU when connecting to a server using the command line or GameSpy Arcade which will be fixed in the 1.31 update. In the meantinme, you will have to use one of the in-game connection options (Internet, History, Favorites, or Direct Connect).
