Wowzers, that's a whole heap of fine changes... whirlwind fixed, great-cleave fixed, rapid reload (wish I'd kept my cross-bow user now), ... tons of good stuff :)

Fixed how Damage Resistance works against weapons that do more than one type of damage (i.e. Morning Stars and Halberds). The target now uses the worst of the multiple damage resistances angainst weapons that inflict more than one base weapon damage type.
Wait, so something with Piercing resistance is now immune to a morningstar crashing down on their head? Meh. :P
No I would take it to mean that if you get hit by a morning star (bludgeoning and Piercing dmg) and you have both bludgeoning and piercing dmg reduction it will select the lowest value dmg reduction to reduce the damage.
Cromagnon, I think you read 'worst of the multiple damage resistances' as worst for the PC when in effect I think it means worst for the Monster.

I.e. 10/- piercing, 5/- bludgening. The Bludgening resistance is the worse of the two so is the one that gets applied.
Wasn't that already fixed a few versions ago? They certainly did something with the multiple-damage-type things. I thought it was currently working as intended, and can't see the difference... Maybe it was subtely when you had weapon doing multiple damage types, and the target multiple damage resistances too.

Yep, mostly good stuff :)

This, however
- Amplify now requires a somatic component as per the spell description (spells.2da).
- The spell WarCry now requires a somatic component as per the spell description (spells.2da).
- Greater Sactuary now requires a somatic component, as per the spell description (spells.2da).
- Balagarn's Iron Horn now requires a somatic component, as per the spell description (spells.2da)
made my bard cry.
Currently on Eastern Time - 5 GMT.

According to one of the devs a while back, your PC will be able to ride horses.

The quote below was posted in the Bioware announcement thread, so it seems they're still working on it, and still plan to release riding horses.
There's a new feat for Paladins for "Summon Mount" however the NWScript for it has not been added yet. Lots of horse specific stuff is still being ripped out of WCoC and has to be cleaned up for 1.69 release.
I hope my centaur can ride a horse!!! *rears up and whinnies loudly*

We've not started to discuss this yet Team side so the answer to all the questions is We don't know.

Based on past patch releases though I could make a guess with the following replies.

Yes assuming we still have the coders around to help alter any scripts that need re-working.

Don't know, I'm not a coder. It'll be dependent on how much changes. Some patches were quick to upgrade to, others took ages.

Difficult to say. Much of that will depend on the playerbase and whether theres a push for us to move or not. In the past players needed the new patch to play Presige Modules, this time there may be no need so there may be less of a push for us to upgrade.

does this mean x-bow users will get the same number of attacks as bow users if they take this feat?
OMG OMG OMG my assassin can FINALLY start using his favorite assassin weapon the way it is supposed to be used. :)

*Slaps self* And when looking at the added content I am afraid it would be a #$$%#@ load of work to make sure everything we already have in place works and keeps working so don't get too excited yet.

As with any core update it'll take a copap wide update, it's also an opportunity to do some additions and fixes to existing custom content. But to my knowledge, there's some work being done already in merging 2das.

But hold your horses, folks, it's still a beta.

welllll.... myself, I vote... yesplease! :-) Some of us CAN'T play NWN2. Others of us are simply not interested in doing so. NWN1 is still, arguably (And please let's not HAVE an argument, just acknowledge that there's differences of opinion) as good as NWN2 is in a LOT of ways. And a lot of us play not so much for teh fancy graphics as we do for the PCs we love, and will have to distch... on transfering over. For myself.... Reason #1 is the big one, the others just make #1 less painful :-) But the list of proposed stuff is VERY nice. I especially like the Set Description, frankly.... thruogh play, a PCs appearence generrally can change a LOT. And sometimes, when you MAKE a PC, you don't really know WHAT to say to describe them. With this, players who like having a description, and a CURRENT description can do so... which means, maybe more people will USE Descriptions, so that when you Look at someone... you can actually TELL if they look like they've been sleeping in a ditchm or a palace for the last month. This is a Good Thing :-)

All that being said, Nob's comment is a good one... a beta is not a real patch. And work on even looking over the feasability of an update more or less hAS to wait to even START until the patch actually comes out... Beta's are notorious for last minute changes that mess around any work you've already put in....

Still, I vote "yes but take your time and do it low pressure, get it done when it gets done", and if there's anythign I can do to help, just holler at me :-)

A preview of NPC models in 1.69(move to the screenshots thread if needed)

Image there's more than just this!

Image

Image Behold the new standard of lich.

Image

Image Satyrs, demons, masked men, undead, and a noble or two.

Image That is not a depth perception trick. He *is* that big!

There's a lot more here I didn't screenshot. Also the NPCs have a tag of x3, meaning Bioware is basically labeling this patch as the third NWN expansion(Hordes has a tag of x2 for it's material).

And on that note, I can't wait to see what charms AE will do, unless Bioware went and made all mounts special.

...probably better if they did, but ooh the fun lost because of it. :fouet:
