Avlis policy on: Roleplaying Sexuality

Post by Silk » Fri Jan 30, 2004 6:19 pm

A sex crime is any act that meets any of the following criteria:
- Non-consentual, In Character sexuality of any kind.
- Non-consentual, Out of Character sexuality of any kind.
- Any form of sexuality with a minor (per the United States most strict definition of a minor).

Roleplaying Sex Crimes in Avlis or any Avlis owned/controlled medium is prohibited.

Roleplaying includes, but is not limited to: stories, rumors, and accusations In Character.

This is a zero tolerance policy and anyone caught commiting sex crimes of any kind in Avlis or any Avlis owned/controlled medium will be immediately banned from ALL Avlis owned/controlled mediums.

Specifically, I mean Roleplaying sexuality with an IC child (NPC or PC) is prohibited.
I consider the legal definition of a child to be 17 or below.

Ok, Let's not start finding loopholes... so no I'm not going to address Shakespeare.

And, frankly, it doesn't matter... if what you do is determined by the Team to be in violation of the spirit of this rule... you WILL be banned.

It's pretty simple... and it doesn't require numbers or race differentiation.

If target of said sexuality is not considered an adult by ANY means of consideration, then said act is prohibited.

For those of you who need this spelled out, it means:

No rape, IC or not
No unwanted groping, IC or not
No unwanted sexual attentions of any kind whatsoever, IC or not
No sexual contact of any kind with an IC minor
No sexual contact with an OOC minor

In short, IC or not, DON'T DO THESE THINGS ON AVLIS. You will be banned. This isn't complicated folks.

This policy has been updated to clarify what roleplaying includes.

Remember folks, this is an insta-ban. No second chance.

*bumps*

Just a brief reminder to everyone about Avlis policy on this sort of thing.

It has been brought to my attention a certain character intends to use 'rape' to blackmail another character. This is not to happen in any way, shape or circumstance. Failure to comply will be dealt with very harshly as per Silks' notes above.

Uh, innocent question from a njub... does this also apply for backgrounds? I mean, nothing explicit or the like, but if one, say, wants to play a half-orc, does that mean the parents must have been a loving couple? I don't mean anything explicit, but is it okay to state IC, if asked about your background, something harmless, but pointing at it... e.g. something like "I was not conceived in love."?

Jus' asking, thanks!

A reminder:

Any kind of report or post or RP of ANY kind which states, or implies that any act of a sexual nature took place or might take place, where all concerned did not give their consent is strictly forbidden. Any use of such a description will get you Banned

The team had a recent inquiry as to if there was an opt-out list for cybering/related role play.

The reason why we don't need to keep such a list is because everyone is automatically opted out. This is one of those zero tolerance rules.

There is no such thing as non-consent on our world.

No is a complete sentence.

If your NO is not honored, please report it to the team.

On the flip side, if YOU want to tread those waters with an in game relationship, it is on YOU to get permission upfront from the other player(s) as to where their personal comfort zones reside.

Avlis is a safe pretendy fun zone and we intend to keep it that way.

Thanks for being awesome!

Game on!
