Avlis policy on: Roleplaying Pregnancy

Post by Silk » Tue Jul 20, 2004 2:46 pm

Pregnancy won't be allowed on Avlis in any form or way from here on in.
Players who already have kids or are currently pregnant as of July 20, 2004, are granfathered in.

This "grandfathering" only applies to people on the following list:
Nikki Tanner
Aila Daxxa

If you're name is on this list, you need to contact the staff ASAP to recieve specific roleplay requirements that you must adhere to.

Are children allowed? If I have a female character, and she stays offline for the term of a pregnancy, and then a child appears after the requisite amount of time (stated above) as a PC, is it cool?

Say I have a female human pc. She stays offline for 15-16 real months. Can her child show up?

There are no 'Children' which can be played as PCs. There are NPC children, but they cannot be used as PCs. Plus, of course, Halflings cannot be used to portray Human (or Elven) children.
Life is never as bad as you think it is, although that doesn't help at the time.

I guess this should be written in even simpler wording:

Female PC's cannot become pregnant.

Another silly question from this persistent njub  ...

Do Avlis PC females know of this IC?

I.e., would it be metagaming if they did not wish to become pregnant but took no IC measures to prevent it? Or is it common IC knowledge, like, adventurers have bad karma and never become pregnant or something... :?:

No.

This is an OOC rule.

Update for clarification:

Player Characters may not become pregnant.
Players may not play the child of another one of their characters.

can a player play the adult child of another player's character?

Player A has an adult character, old enough to have an adult child, and has not previously indicated that they do not have children. Can player B, with the permission of player A, make a character that is the adult child of player A's character?

Only with a approved background - Write the avlis team before hand and someone will look over what you're doing and see if it's kosher THEN get back to you and say yes or no.
