Stephanus and Bobil

Post by Gairus » Tue Jun 08, 2004 6:37 am

Orl's pointed them out to me in IRC, and now he's also clarified that they are both well known (demi-gods who rule Grantir with Angadar). They're also mentioned in the campaign notes.

Curious though, do they actually have mantles? I'm not sure if demigods even need mantles, they might just have followers due to their administrative positions.

There were some valuable extra bits of information about Grantir in the Races: Drangonari post and I love that sort of thing... every little tidbit for my discussions of home helps :)

No, they don't actually have mantles. Stephanus and Bobil are an odd bunch. Their main notoriety comes from the fact that they travelled with Angadar so long, and remained his most trusted friends. Stephanus is the weretiger and Bobil is a minotaur. When Angadar rose to power, they were there, always behind him. The followers of Angadar all know this and revere them both for it as his eternal servants and friends, (and sometimes messengers, in Stephanus' case). Stephanus was also the first ruler of Grantir, before he ascended.

Both of their ascensions were a combination of Angadar pumping them up with as much power as he could along with the fact that they are revered by nearly every drangonari in the world. If they had any kind of mantle, it would be that of guardians of the drangonari race.
