How long does the average Changling live for and what would be the comparible race maturity rate? Any race other then a Changling probably would not know this information, but a Changling him/herself, I think, would.
In terms of game mechanics alone, you start with the Elf race that, by default, gives you an age of 120 years. But if Avlissian Changlings only live to be, say, 10 years, this is should be changed during character creation before you talk to the Iron Gollum in LeOr.
It also concerns a number of RP issues. For example: If a changling wanted to experience living as a human, possibly to even establish themselves in the comunity as a human, but their lifespan was 10 years, this wouldn't be possible to do starting from infant/child onward, unless done by successive generations. If they lived for thousands of years it would be entirely possible and then some, they could live long enough to portray their own decendants.
From what I've read, Changlings like to try many forms, but it doesn't mean that they can't come back to one form repeatedly to experience what it is like to be human and to live like one. A younger Changling may not do this, flipping from form to form for the thrill of the form and the change. An older Changling may have developed more patience and understanding that being a human is not simply a matter of form, it is also a matter of time, age, development, relationships and lifecycle.
So, a Human at 18 years is roughly equivolent to an Elf at 120 years, what would be the equivolent for a Changling? And how long do they live?
Thanks!
